Begins at 5pm at 3 Monkeys and will go until the cab companies close down, or until Sunday's season kick-off matches, for which there will be tailgaiting before, during and afterward (weather permitting). |

2/5/07 The Wank: Pre-Season Kickoff Addition Men (and women) of the Rat… after quite some time away, The Wank is back… maybe not weekly, but Wanky! Following a very successful fall campaign (Sidewalk Café capturing 1st Division silverware, and 3 Monkeys capturing 3rd Division) we are gearing up for what looks to be a very exciting Spring. This year the club will boast 6 clubs: Fan Rats: The Fan Rats are re-tooled and geared up for another run at both the CVSA Cup as well as challenging the Ex-Rams (whom we defeated in the Fall is the noise worse when we win or when they win?). Santo and PK have added new and exciting faces from the likes of Va Tech and Elon (to replace much older Elon players, and retire them to the lower divisions where they belong) welcome to Steve D and Joe B. Sidewalk Café: This year’s campaign will see everyone’s favorite 2nd Division Team still alive (despite facing early opposition from premier side Action FC) in the CVSA Cup and moving up into the Premiership (despite the fact that sans a few players, we could qualify for the Masters table). New faces from Action FC are rumored to be in camp with an eye to signing for the Spring 07 campaign. 3 Monkeys: Tres Monos gear up for D2 action this year, with Mike F, Evan, Hamm, Duke, and the entire UK leading the charge. After a strong showing in the 3rd Division, they look strong to challenge for the D2 crown. Kuba Kuba: Mike F’s brainchild, this team will compete in D3, and sports 2 generations of Giavos, E + C Milton, W + B Mihajlvits, and several other surprises. Son of a Rat! Rat Masters: Daniel S has re-tooled the side (he said “tool”) for a strong showing. Jurassic Rats: Time… is on my side! Yes it is! After a rough first year in the Veterans Division… the original Rats are ready to rock… no chair jokes please! Best of luck to all the teams of the Rat Nation! The Wank will return as soon as any member of any of these fine teams give us a reason to Wank… which should be relatively soon! |
